Most efficient blocks assuming you have master rumours. With and without chin/herbi pet.

Keep in mind they improved obstacles and respawn time for antelopes recently.

Novice - moonlight antelope
Adept - pyre fox
Expert - red sally/sunlight antelope (red chin if you have pet and don't care about xp)

It's mostly up to personal preference. Here's my block tier list:

Always Block: Pyre fox (with Adept)
Block Options (Expert x2): Red Salamander, Sunlight Antelope, Red Chinchompa
Block Options (Novice): Moonlight Antelope, Herbiboar, Tecu Salamander, or the 3rd from Block options (Expert x2)
Never Block: Dashing Kebbit, Sunlight Moth, Moonlight Moth

Other than pyre foxes which suck.
How efficient is it to spend time trying to get the novice to block something you don't want. Do different tier rumor rewards only impact the quantity of regular drops but not the rate of uniques? (whatever the rate may be)

Considering that the novice can give you any task including ones you aren't trying to block (non master ones), you still have to spend time doing it until it hits the one you want? What if it takes you like 100 novice tasks for it to finally hit Herbiboar so you can block it. Is it worth doing 100 novice rumors over just doing 100 master ones and occasionally doing herbi?

Idk why you would block herbi but it was worth it for me to block tecu salamanders. As a uim, i had to go get nets and rope every time so Blocking both sallys meant I didn't have to do that anymore. It's really just down to personal preference. It doesn't take that long of you do novice block last since 5 tasks will be blocked already. Also, if you get dashing kebbits on master, you can use dashing kebbit fur to complete any kebbit task which speeds things up a lot

So I should keep herbi unblocked even if I have the pet already?

Is herbi faster in terms of time taken to get the tuft, or is it because it’s more relaxed than tecu salamanders / antelopes?

I Currently have moonlight antelopes blocked on novice (got it on my 2nd assignment from the novice guy and haven’t removed that block since they suck too, but my intention long term was to block herbi on novice)
