Completing the ToA Collection Log

In terms of completing the ToA collection log, it is a little more complex then other raids. The reason for this is thanks to the lovely invocation system. Players can decide what invocation they prefer & what team size they would like to raid. This has a direct impact on the purple chance as it scales upwards with Invocation.

One thing to note. The objective here is to ensure that when you reach 2000 ToA kill count, you have fully greenlogged the section, that way you do not need to do any post-2k cape completions. However, as you will see below, it is very possible to go beyond 2k cape without having all purples, however the odds are quite slim.

Efficient Path to Completion

Initially, you should focus on doing ToA with the highest invocation you possibly can while still ensuring you can get consistent completions (remember, anything under 150 Invocation should be avoided since it doesn't count towards the 2k cape). The average ToA completion is the following:

33.75 Purples is the expected average completion.

As such, assuming the following invocation & team scale, you can see from the table below the odds of completing all 7/7 Purples + pet as follows:

#

Yes, if you do 2000 Solo 500 ToA, there is a 1/2500 chance you do not even complete all purples.... May the OSRS gods have mercy on that poor soul.

In my opinion, the best ToA completion route is as follows:

-Solo 400 OR 8man 400's Invocation ToA until you reach 7/7 purples + pet
-All Kits & Transmogs as soon as you believe you have the ability to complete (ideally before completion)
-Solo or 8man 300 or less invocation ToA until 2k cape.

Note: Doing 150's is not as good as you would expect & I will discuss further below

Solo VS Team ToA

Your first question might be: Lone, why would you do teams, when solos are “better”.

While it is true, solo ToA IS more purple/h if you are playing efficiently due to having overall a better purple rate for the same invocation. However, team raids have their own advantages.

Pros:
-Team raids are always going to be significantly faster due to red keris & less room HP per player,
-Team raids are typically “easier” for the same invocation level. 8 man 400 is comparable to Solo 350.
Less punishing if you die.
-Mechanics are easier
-MvP in an 8 man 400 rewards you with 2400 points… Which is equivalent to a +1% purple rate. In comparison, that's like if it would give you 8700 CoX points PER ROOM,

Cons:
-more downtime… Typically
-relying on finding teams.
-Less purple per hour.

Expected Gold Made per ToA Purple

#

As of September 20th, 2023, each ToA purple will provide on average 85M GP (Note: 70.99% of this gp is strictly from Shadow kekw) As such shadow RNG will vary your gp/h significantly.

The excel sheet will be posted in the main section of this forum post, if you would like to save a copy and tweet values according to your preference.

150 VS 300 VS 400 Invocation ToA Calculations

#

The following table shows you the team scale, invocation level, expected purples per raid (assuming deathless), expected gp profit per raid, gp per player, time per raid completion (assumed based on experience, but may vary), raids per hour, Expected gp/h profit, time to 2k cape if you did 2000 of these & expected gp profit from 2k cape.

#

For example, if you did a total of 2000 Solo 500 ToA, you should expected to profit 25.2B gp while taking 1333 hours with 40 min raids (including downtime) as opposed to only making 2.6B with 8man 150's.

Depending on how you personally value your gp, this can have an impact on what raid you would prefer doing.

#

For instance, if you want gp to buy max gear and/or gp to spend on dragon implings, dragonstone armor clog section, megascales or boosting services.

#

Are 150 Invocation ToA worth your time?

#

One question that is bounced around a lot by the HLC of Cloggers is regarding doing 150 invocation ToA to get as fast as possible completions towards the 2K cape.

#

The following table should explain that question in depth:

#

The table shows the following: Team scale, invocation level, time spent to 2k cape, time spent assuming doing 19min solo 150's (with downtime), time lost from not doing 150s, expected GP from the invocation chosen, expected gp from doing solo 150s, Additional gp gained & finally the GP/H potential lost in Millions.

#

Note: The GP/H potential lost is a unit of measure to compare the expected amount of money you would miss out on for every 1 hour of time you save doing 150 invocation raids instead of X

#

In my example: I am assuming 19min solo 150's. Faster can definitely be possible, but in my case this is what i can expect to get consistently.

For instance: 8man WTP 410 are assumed at 27 min per raid (including downtime), which can definitely be reduced to 24 min with a more advanced team. However, that is up to you to change accordingly.

#

Hence: If you do 8man 410 WTP 27 minute raids instead of solo 150's at 19 minutes. You are gaining an additional 31.3M gp/h of money per time saved.

Which means, in nerd talk, if you value your time beyond 31.3M gp/h, do 150's. Otherwise do 400s.

#

Note: No in game money maker can reach that high rates, unless you do unethical services or boosting services

#

As such, it's safe to assume, doing 150's for cape is not worth it, unless you do not value gp (like myself as an ironman kekw )
