I would like it if you're able to join a match mid-game instead of waiting and separating casual and competitive players. There's like a divide on players who just want a quick game and those that just want to play seriously, but under circumstances, they're forced to play in public where 90% of the time 50% of the lobby will leave before the match ends which can sometimes be irritating because you're stuck with so little players for the rest of the match, its become unfun.
However, i do consider the unfairness of the "mid-game player" having fewer augments, but that can balance itself by giving the late player an extra augment(s) per round (relative to the augments given per round), at least until they're able to catch up. At the middle or start of the game, you're more likely to catch up, but at the end game, i think its fair for the late player to not catch up. This is because the match is about to end, and that significant disadvantage should be fair to the people who have been playing the whole time.
Of course, this should obviously be limited to casual lobbies. In competitive you shouldn't be able to join mid match, or customize lobbies. And you should be punished by leaving mid round, at least it should encourage(force) players to at least stay and not rage quit 💛
