to give more in lore insight, it is explained to us that Kars species were just built different like that, and pretty much already acted like vampires and stuff. With Kars creating the stone mask to try and unlock the secrets of the brain, which while fully works for humans, turning them into vampires, the pillarmen species body is far stronger, making it so that their brains werent fully pierced by the mask, reason why Santana, ACDC, Wammu and Kars are different. Which Kars sumised using the aja stone, which refracts light a billion times, it would make the stone mask be able to pierce their brains fully, but only a perfect Aja stone, the super aja, would do the job since the others didnt.

To get a form, from Wind, Fire and Light, you use a stone mask with the small aja
