@undone lily Would you know why adding a grenade launcher reload animation to the hud OMF file makes it crash? All the bones are in the animation and I am exporting it the same way as I did the previous animations.
Fixed it, no idea why but I had to add numbers to every Skls name...
Hi friends, real simple question and real simple mod. I want to rename the patches to follow a nice format of "Patch - Faction" in order to have them nicely sorted in the inventory rather than all over the place (assuming the inv is sorted alphabetically by name and not underlying item ID
).
I unpacked Anomaly and found the st_items_patches.xml file with their names.
What's the process for applying the update as patch in the modlist? Setting up a folder format of gamedata/configs/text/eng/st_items_patches.xml and putting that as a mod in GAMMA RC3/mods/?

Yeah man, should work as-is, the only thing is making sure it's loaded after all gamma stuff, and if you run any custom or non-gamma mods they might not be compat.

i dont know if its the same for the faction patches, but when i was making the PDA Manual, i found that xml for it (atleast i think it was the xml) worked by the coded name of the file.. So instead of naming the Freedom patches as "Freedom Patch" to "Patch Freedom" i would actually need to rename the ID of the item from freedom_patch to patch_freedom Now again i dont know if thats the same thing, maybe this was a waste of time but i saw what you were talking about and wonder if maybe thats what it is.. Basically instead of working based on the 'text' name it works based on the 'string' name. (alphabetically) but i could be wrong. Keep in mind that doing this though, if anything else uses or relies on that string it probably will break that. (Because you would essentially be renaming it and other files/dependancies [if theres any] would think it no longer exists)
Yeah I had the same thought line with the ID being the sorted part. And considering the patch lottery, any icon files that point to it (in both vanilla and modded updates), etc etc, I don't really want to go down that rabbithole for a minor change 
Pretty cool idea though. Patches naming always annoyed me when it sorts in the inventory π¦

Perhaps, yes. Previously enemies could shoot at an invisible part of the actor. Now they have to be a lot more accurate. No more getting shot from around corners etc

Yep. They arent as fluid as previously. Its not that noticeable for me. It's a small inconvenience to stop being killed when i shouldn't be

@undone lily grok_bo grok_nes and grok_artefacts_random_spawner all have a few instances of printfs that print to console. Are these left on intentionally or is it accident? Just wondering as i made an addon to re-comment them out to stop the console logs.

Idea came in a recent playthrough when I came by the training fanatic mission, and just found a thicc juiced military dead, with bunch a loot and a fully kitted RPK, I would've like to see what killed him....

turns out when I DLTXify a mod it just creates a folder with nothing in it
You have to unpack the Vanilla files first
D:\Games\Anomaly\tools and run unpackerALL.bat
I already did, but I used the normal unpacker, not the all unpacker

Basically your mod overwrites this:
Making it impossible to find ammo parts on dead stalkers
If I knew how to solve the conflict I would have done it myself but I have no idea what I should do 
A quick WinMerge shows the lines that are missing but I don't know if I just need to move the missing one to your mod
EDIT: I'm trying for myself, the files are now identical, I've moved what was missing in your mod from GAMMA Economy, I'll see what happen
If it doesn't work, I'll just disable it, just wanted to let you know about it
Hmm, I merged it with the mod that overwrote it last, so there should be everything in there. But you can try, winmerge is really easy

Open WinMerge with the death_manager file from GAMMA Economy and your mod
Check out what was missing from what
Your mod was missing something from GAMMA Economy
So I basically copy-pasted what your mod didn't have
Result: identical files

monolith is the biggest faction, that's why they're more likely to top the charts everytime

Currently going through all items in the game as GAMMA currently stands and updating the death_items (corpse loot) tables. There's a bunch of stuff that doesn't drop from any corpses of NPC's ever, this is just the mutant parts/meats/bodyparts section.
Going to try to make some stuff drop from factions in a thematic sort of way. ie; Higher chance of scientific specimens to drop from high rank ecologists, (including the new ones) etc.
Give this man the modder role asap

Ah, they are in stashes and containers.
Cooked food that doesn't spawn on corpses. Presumably intended, as you have to cook it. Still, a tiny % chance to find some of these on some high rank npc's would be interesting.
Also seems the __1 next to items is how many 'uses' it spawns with. Presumably this means that certain items can be given more charges on loot, if the item is in the loot pools. Probably best for higher ranks though. ie; getting a 4-use matches instead of a 1-use from higher rank
Hey @undone lily There's an addon that makes powdered cans able to be explosives... is this a better use of powdered cans? might make explosives more interesting.

Updated the Mutant Loot Overhaul to carry across Groks changes to make medicine even more rare from mutants.
like, yeah it's gross, i just slapped some code into pba on_before_hit functions before artefacts are processed

@undone lily the ISG and Merc voices files that were updated recently, are they using DICK models or something else? I was comparing changes to check against ANUS and some <visual>model</visual> changes that came up caught me by surprise. Where did they come from? It could just be me not having updated ANUS at some point, but i didn't think i missed anything so just wanted to check with you. Cheers edit: or it could be that addon (the merc voices etc) needs compatibility with DICK? (Assuming that it hasn't already been) Or maybe mine is outdated..
Anyone ever tried a higher time factor? Been playing with an increased time factor so that instead of every 6 seconds = 1 minute, every 10 = 1 minute. Feels a lot better to me. Days and nights feel a little bit longer. Before it always felt like time went too fast but this feels just right π

It's something controlled by this mod but I have no idea on "how to take those two bars and move them into another mod without using the actual mod" 
Try removing the script, use the original one, then, on minimalist HUD, use the file contained in my mod

How to edit cost of junk artefacts? I am trying to change this 'gamedata\configs\items\items\items_artefacts_junk.ltx' file but no price changes occure in the game (other variables is working). Also tried to change health regen in items_artefacts.ltx and nothing happening too. Am i missing something?

My iron man runs are gonna be more varied now thanks to the starting locations, i had already added some for bandits and renegades on my own, but i've been doing more runs with other factions so the new ones are appreciated.
i remember trying out older starting location mods back then, shit was wild tho due to rads being different then, i would spawn somewhere like Outskirts with a shitty gas mask and die instantly

the only part I'm trying to solve is that the listings for ammo parts are spread across two files (bas and not) so the code looks a little more cringe than I'd otherwise like

The way i understand it is it's based on the source file and how the game reads it, if i recall... I found similar things too when i would start DLTXing. I didnt understand for the longest time,but only recently got it all working and have some ok insight to it now and how it actually works.. Basically
The best way is to go to the dltx addon and read up about it. if you have some file you want to know where the source goes, i can try to help find it for you.
So i should use LTXDiff to know the real source?

Well, if it can help I used Dux files as a point of comparison to get rid of the HD Models dependency, if we're talking about the questlines for all factions, the only relevant difference that prevented me to just copy the files is the faction changes for certain npcs

What t6ch said. Find other things that change things, maybe small things. Start with small tweaks and mods, things that dont do heaps, just a little. understand how it works and eventually branch out to bigger things. I always think a good start is in the gamedata/configs folder, most stuff in there is interesting to tweak, or to me it is. Also be sure to extract the anomaly gamedata files so you got stuff to work with from the base game.

so all sounds, textures, configs, scripts etc.

The first thing I looked into was map modification but that's apparently practically impossible so RIP

Funnily enough, thats what started my journey to modding gamma. I was playing gamma walking around swamps and being like "Why dont enemies go in the water.. ever?" That led me down a rabbit hole in anomaly discord that led me to meatchunk basically saying "yeah nah that wont happen cause x y z, basically the map needs to be edited for AI to use the areas" Also RIP.

What mod is the GAMMA loading screen text in?
If you download this or a similar app that can view lines of text through search of folders, that would make it really easy for you to search a line and it will pull up all files with that line found, or key words.
Actually we could get a tools-sharing thing going in here...

This is very handy
Especially when we need to troubleshoot stuff with crash logs
It's helped me on innumerable occasions, track back how configs and xml's reference eachother to help me work out what i need to change and where. it's solely responsible for me figuring out how to make the PDA Manual addon.
Apparently this was bullshit. There's for some reason, thousands of base-anomaly files included in these updates with zero changes. I dont know why they did this.
Now im going through having to bulk-delete them all to try to get just what's been changed.....

@undone lily I managed to track down a solution to the sniper problem (other than just deleting it)
removing this from the end of pri_b36_monolith_sniper.ltx stopped the crashes; I think it was, for some reason, causing some sort of duplication of death callbacks and causing the internal DB to hang and crash

Unfortunately it doesn't work for existing saves
(And I think, technically, it'll cause him to be able to respawn...but if he doesn't cause crashes that's not really a problem)
Well I'll just script it. Check on existing map if there's an npc with "sniper" in it's id and Alife release it
Runs every minute or so

When you look in the details of ammunition in gamma, it shows an item called 'ammo parts' from the base game. I want to change it to show what it will disassemble into in gamma since the ammo parts are more specific
i.e. rifle casing, buckshot, handgun propellant are items used in gamme
Does that make sense?
My plan
- Find the associated codes for 'Ammo Parts' and Gamma ammo parts
- Use those to find the master disassembly list
- Find out what items result from disassembling each type of ammo
- Find where ammo parts is displayed in vanilla Anomaly
- Put in the Gamma info

The part.ltx file (components when you hit details) doesnt contain BaS ammo. I checked and neither the BaS original mod, the BaS patch, or the GAMMA item part fix includes them. I want to add them. Is there any special procedure (I plan on just entering the code, the same spacing as the others, and then the components)?

I prefer well made weathers with good visibility than weathers with lots of variance but that look inequal

Oh it's just really because I noticed that there was a rain with sunny parts but for exemple, if you want a moody rain with dark clouds, there's hardly one, I get the point of wanting visibility though
