sorry ill try to clarify. gamma worked fine for me when i installed the .9 update when it came out, untill i updated this morning and got the same crash you did when i load a save. when i make a new game gamma works perfectly fine with no crashes, but loading ANY save i have from before i updated this morning gives me the same crash error as you. to answer the seccond part of your question i would update gamma fully with the force zip ticked in the new launcher.

TLDR i think the two of our saves are bricked and we may need to start a new game VS using old saves

What about Auto Looter now? It still doesn't do anything, although it's properly configured. It recognizes the keypress outside of inventories (ssaying that remote loot is disabled, as intended). But inside any container or inventory just nothing happens when pressing the key.

To anyone with the shader compilation error, I found a possible fix. You need to download and install atmospherics GAMMA manually. Go to the moddb page, grab the gamma version, install it directly next to the old one and disable the old one. Clear shader cache before launching

It's the new DOF (Depth Of Field) effect.
You can turn it off:
1) Open the game.
2) Go in Mod Configuration Menu.
3) Search SSS Settings.
4) Disable whatever options you don't like and/or move sliders to the left.
Shaders Cumulative Pack for GAMMA has to be enabled in MO2, otherwise the SSS settings won't be visible.

If these steps don't work and DOF remains enabled, press ~, type r2_dof_enable off and hit Enter.
