The PM in the trilogy is an entirely different weapon from Skif’s pistol. The trilogy PM is in all likelihood the single worst starting weapon in any game ever. Low mag size, low damage, low range, no pen, horrible sights, horrible accuracy, high recoil, etc.

On the other hand, I’m convinced that Skif’s PM is actually just an illusory spell placed on a halo M6C/SOCOM that happens to transmute 9x18 ammunition found in the zone into the 12.7x40 (iirc) rounds commonly fired by the halo handguns. Skif’s PM is a construct of pure hatred, fueled by bloodshed. It has the magical power to make enemy corpses have several rounds of 9x18 on them despite those enemies having no compatible firearms on them. This thing can shave the hairs off a charging boar at 200 meters and still have another 7 rounds to handle business with.

There’s a reason that in every cutscene with Skif holding a weapon, he has this enchanted firearm at the ready. Maybe only he is aware of its true form while us meager mortals can only perceive its hidden form. Even pointing the wretched thing at a bandit should erase their entire existence from reality, removed from the memories of their families and any acquaintances. It’s almost certainly for game balance that the mere firing register of the gun does not disable all anomalous activity and instantly lobotomize anything with any amount of cognition within a 5 mile radius, even if according to the other bits of gameplay it would blatantly be capable of such a feat.

So much as a whisper of this weapons true name in the ears of the monolith should have them immediately stand down and let it’s great wielder command them with the same reverence as ancient military strategists once had. Submission is not mandatory, it is ordained by God and any diversion from this Fact is Treason Against God’s Kingdom, and any violation of this Holy Order should and shall be met with the highest disregard for the Transgressor’s being, both material and immaterial.

I pulled up the driveway in my lifted Powerstroke, but noticed something was immediately off...... I could hear someone rifling through the gym bag in the 2nd floor kitchen. I knew it wasn't family or friends, I play Tarkov for fun.

I rushed to the unlocked military weapons crate sitting outside my garage, a shiny new AK-103 inside. I bust down the front door with my boot, sure to catch anyone inside off guard. No movement on first floor, but I could Immediately pinpoint the location of the thief after hearing him swallow a single Ibuprofen upstairs. Knowing his position, I could confidently push up the stairs, firing periodically in his direction to keep him from pushing out of the room.

Ears ringing from the 15 rounds I fired walking up the staircase, I can still hear him in the master bathroom. Learning from the single most effective room clearing tactic in Tarkov, I throw 7 grenades into the bathroom to get him to push out of cover, but no dice. All the grenades landed in the small trashcan next to the toilet, He's entirely untouched. I sprint in front of the door sill 3 times to try and pinpoint his position. After winding up my Heelys, i roll into the room at 27 miles per hour and shoot him in the face, catching him completely off-guard.

Burglar dispatched, I exfil out the hole in the fence behind my house, playing Geneburn to celebrate.
