On xbox, is there anything i can do about the low level of lights, I need a handful of the overhead lights to see anything, and forget going and finding things in the caves

@opaque loom Game have a good ballance about this and you can only changes setting in your monitor/TV 🤗
This game and this "dark" create a best experience what you can do got but if you needed in game a shine - use a some lighting where 🤗

yeah, gamma usually just washes out the colors, but doesn't actually provide more visibility. can confirm it is hard to see on xbox...especially in the daytime, but even when my room is dark it is hard to see things

I'm also on Xbox, and agree it's dark. One thing you can try is go through the Xbox TV config thing, in Xbox display settings it has a screen config thing where it displays test patterns and tells you to adjust TV settings until they look good. That at least makes sure you have a good baseline (helps with any games).
After that, turning up gamma a little helped for me (it does make it more washed out, but playable).
