is there any settings i could turn off that would hit mostly graphics and turn down a majority of the lag?

Have you tried turning off machine sounds? There is a significant bug with audio and this can help with some of the performance issues.

Restarting the game afterwards as well.

I just noticed the title of this thread are you also saying water is lagging your game? I have noticed that looking at the water falls that my frames can fluctuate. Not really a solution to that at the present moment, but the machine audio being turned off should help with other performance issues.

well i wasnt entirely sure but i notice when i walk through water a lot of the time the water will lag me
