#More Monorail Problems

This may just be another manifestation of the monorail power bug but it works slightly different from what I saw described.

So, I built a monorail system from one base to another. The bases were already connected with Cables at this point since I built that system first.
The monorail worked like a charm without issues for quite a while. At some point I noticed resources piling up, and when I looked I saw the monorail had stopped working. One of the end-points now said it had no power accessible although as has been noted before there is power.

Now both those bases already are setup with their own generators. In that particular base I built at least 3 levels of powered blocks and the monorail terminal is toward the top, whilst the power generator is at the bottom on top of the water. In this case I built up and am using the generators and waterwheels (in addition to a lot more built by me) that were already present by the giant hole that pours water down (sorry I forget the place-name).

I've tried shifting the position of the monorail throughout various parts of that base, even building new portions of powered floor for it to no avail. I simply can't get it to sense power.

Later I also tried building generators by the freight elevator and putting a monorail in that area, and had the same issues. I can't get that monorail to activate. As of right now the only one that I can get to power is over by Victor. THAT one works, but 1) it's the end-point, and 2) none of the other monorails I place work.

Any ideas?

Weird! The HVC and monorail definitely dont get along

But as for the rest, im not certain

i was helping some one the other day and it seems if there is a hvc within 50-60 blocks space the monorail wont work even if it has its own power grid

I'll have to check that out, thanks for the tip. I definitely think that they were within that range

Btw, I tried this out and stopped after getting to 200 tiles away from the Stepper. Also of note, if I unplug it the monorail is fine. As soon as I plug it in it stops working.
The one that was originally working is still working and that one is about 123 tiles from the stepper. I don't think it actually has anything to do with distance unfortunately.

interesting!

thanks for trying it out though

was def worth trying and a good suggestion!

I’m having the same issue. The first depot i placed is working fine sending material. But the other end of it won’t send materials back to the beginning. And every other monorail depot I place doesn’t work at all. Seems only the very first depot i placed will work. Every other one no matter where it is or how much power I have it will not work right.

So in another post, and I've since confirmed this, it says you basically have to have them on their own power grid. Connecting them to a grid with another monorail prevents them from grabbing power.

I have 6 monorail stations on a single grid (my grid is spread throughout the map via power floors.)

I have only had monorail station problems near voltage steppers.

This is not something that I previously recognized as a pattern, but upon reading this thread, I think I really should have seen that.

Same here I ended up connecting my different monorail stations with power floors too. It’s not the stepper it’s when you connect power to the stepper.

Does the hvc or stepper have some sort of kw/s limit that could be causing this bug? Curious as to why the stepper in particular seems to cause it but floors are fine- would using HVC or steppers to try and supply some other high power demand location cause a similar issue in some cases?
