1. It makes it much more difficult to split the belts content when trying to feed multiple machines from one belt of items. 2. For the storage boxes, only 1 or 2 outputs will pull items constantly and leave the other 6 outputs off until the belt on the first 2 lines are backed up

I wish I didn't agree with you on this. I really want it to work automatically, but I have had too many times where it just wouldn't and forced splitters/combiners would have let me just do the thing I want. If they can figure it out and it works easily, I would love that.
I haven't run into that at all, unless you mean if it is slowly feeding in, the same output always goes first. If that is what you are talking about, I haven't had it bother me, I just adjusted when I realized that was the case.

So for the strorage box I have it set to dispense fuel to multiple machines for mining and smelting. 5 machines each have a storgae output set to it. it only ever outputs on 1 or 2 and when those get backed up, it only then alternates to the rest of the outputs. Might be a bug then?
