#What are long inserters used for?

Long inserters are good for having multiple conveyor belts to lessen clog among other things
Ohhh okay thank you!
One example: smelting furnaces need ore and fuel and a place for the ingots. Ideally you want to automate all three of these. So on one side you have two belts running alongside a row of furnaces, one with the ore, and one another tile further out with the fuel. Long inserters can reach across the ore belt to grab fuel into one of their slots while the other uses a regular inserter to collect ore. This leaves the far side of the furnaces free for the ingots to go.
