I was thinking about spawning an AT-145 emplacement if a pilot left stranded for too long
Alternatively, how about having the pilot walk toward the nearest friendly unit or base and fire the Light Machine Gun (Guard Tower weapon) if they encounter an enemy pilot or infantry?
That's the problem, they can't walk
They can't move on their own, their walk animation are them rolling away
Not moving from A to B, but pushed away by a force (explosion/propulsion)
yup. i do suspect we will get some kind of infantry stuff in a 0.34. but until then theres very little one can do
What about ship crews?
I think this should be left to the developers. I've been waiting for a long time for pilots to be forced to walk, if not to their base, then at least to the road so they can be picked up by their allies.

Not aircraft pilot, but "vehicle crew"
Since these "crew" "bailed" from a vehicle that's most likely on the road, the next passing (hopefully friendly) convoy can pick them up
yo, im pretty sure there IS a walk animation
because depending on how you crash some aircraft the crew will literally fall of the cabin and theyll have a little run until they can finally stop and just stand there like they usually do
its pretty rare cuz you have to crash slowly enough that they dont die
and the cabin part has to pretty much do a g-heavy 180 degree turn for them to have the momentum to both fall off and STILL have enough speed to do the little run
They are not walking actually, they are "rolling"
But that rolling is given the animation to make them looks like they're walking
