Apologies as I don’t have images handy (can try to get them and attach them here later but I’m on the road for work), but crater textures don’t render over terrain in the MFD’s IR mode.
Expected behaviour:
Crater textures match between looking heads-up out the window and in the MFD’s camera display.
Actual behaviour:
Crater textures aren’t rendered or are invisible in the MFD in IR mode.
To replicate:
Go into settings and set the MFD to display in IR only. I don’t know whether this affects colour mode as my MFD is set to IR mode and don’t have any way to test it currently.
Create a crater texture on the ground by, for example, nuking an airfield. A black crater texture will cover the ground and any roads in the blast area.
Now activate the landing cam on an aircraft where you’ve got it enabled by lowering the landing gear, and approach the cratered area. On the landing cam you’ll see a greyscale representation of all the terrain and roads, but no crater texture covering them. Looking out the window you’ll see a black texture covering all the terrain and roads.
