#Why are AI Compasses trying to land on Annex carriers?

I’ve seen it happen a lot.
Because they can
They can overshoot the end of the Annex and fall into the water. I've never seen a succesful AI compass landing on the Annex. (granted, I also only saw one failed landing)
You not? I saw 3-4 times.
And only once this was fail and it hit island
With the one landing I saw, the compass simply overshot the Annex and fell from the front into the water.
Was Annex also stationary?
I'm not sure but I think it was still moving forward.
Ok, i just rechecked and after 0.31 100/100 landings are death sentence for AI compasses
oh wait i forgot to check their landing succes rate with headwind
yeah, I don't think compasses should really try to land on an Annex
you basically need to be at like 15° AOA with little vertical movement to be able to attempt to land
72km/h headwind and no loadouts makes gives them 10/10 success rate
afaik in that mission where i saw a lot of them successfully landing on annex there was like 32km/h headwind
and yes loadouts
yeah, 30km/h headwind is also enough for 10/10 success rate
So if wind direction and speed checks for aircraft carrier landings are introduced, then there is a point to having this capability for AI compasses. If/until there is no such check, then the AI compass should not be able to land on the Annex
