Good day, readers of this proposal for introducing new mechanics and features to such a fantastic game as Nuclear Option. Today, I would like to present a potential system that the developers could implement in the future for more realistic building destruction in our game. So, let's begin with the concept.
The idea is to divide the existing buildings in NO into several components, namely:
- Building Frame – The reinforced concrete structure that serves as the building's "skeleton."
- Exterior Layer – The glass, concrete, or possibly panel-based outer covering of the buildings.
- (Optional, ideally with a toggle for weaker systems) – Interior Objects, such as office islands, rooms in residential buildings, etc.
My suggestion is to first create the main frame, then overlay the exterior shell, and finally use a Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V method to populate it with interiors. Additionally, since the game already has assets without this system, players with lower-end systems could retain the option to use the old building type.
