Ship-based ABM

Similarly to Cactus's post, this post recognizes that balance towards the Piledriver TBM could be more refined and nuanced.
Stratolance R9's effectiveness against TBM's gets decreased, and a new, ship based ABM (similar to the SM-3) gets added to the Dynamo, the upcoming Frigate, or both.

VLS matrices would consist of about 12-18 missiles. The reason these changes would be made are as following:
To give players on both teams clear-cut objectives to attack, and defend.
To put a "soft barrier" on the use of TBM's. Want to use them? Make sure that the ships carrying them are dealt with.
To prevent players from just farming XP, ARAD'ing the vulnerable Stratolance radars and essentially winning the game.

You'd need to redo fleet behavior in conjunction with this. Too often destroyers gets split away from carriers and leave them vulnerable

How is the ABM radar going to avoid getting sniped like stranolance radars? You'll be right back where you started

ABM's don't require radar
They are traditionally SARH guided with the kill vehicle being IR guided, but an ABM could very well use datalink to get itself within the general area of the ballistic missile

You're playing with Pandora's box about why all SARH aren't data link guided then

Datalink isn't accurate enough to get a hit solution on aircraft. The datalink guidance on this would be mid-course, before it switches to the more accurate IR

Or, alternatively, you could do ARH guidance for them, but that brings in the issue of these limited missiles being able to be jammed

Really don't care what platform they're on, as long as there's enough of them to leave other strategies viable enough to put a damper on the Race to Tusko/Piledriver meta we have now.

Okay if give little amount 3-6 of same weapon for cruisers... But not for destroyer, this sounds insanely destroyable

honestly just buff the R9, and maybe add RAM-45s for more common targets on the dynamo

Just buffing the R9 would tip the balance. It's better to nerf them a tiny bit against TBM's, and just have dedicated ABM's
