Suggestion:

Enhance the in-game chat system with the following features to improve usability and player experience, while keeping the killfeed unchanged:

  1. Dedicated Chat Panel
  • The chat should be displayed in its own separate UI panel, clearly distinct from the killfeed.
  • The panel should be scrollable, allowing players to review older messages at any time.
  1. Message Persistence
  • Chat messages should not disappear automatically.
  • They should remain accessible for the entire match or session, unless manually cleared or hidden by the player.
  1. Visibility Modes
Add a setting that allows players to choose how the chat appears:
    • **Always Visible **– Chat is permanently displayed.
    • **Hidden **– Chat is completely hidden unless toggled.
    • **Auto (Timed on New Message) **– Chat becomes visible for X seconds when a new message arrives, then fades out. This behavior mimics the chat system in games like Battlefield or Battlefront (as an example).

This system ensures that communication remains clear, accessible, and customizable without affecting the existing killfeed behavior.

Oh, and it would be great to have a key bind that lets players cycle through the different chat visibility modes on the fly, without needing to go into the settings every time.

Having chat history somewhere in the map view would be nice. Maybe even separate the kill feed from the chat and from the mission/server messages, so you can review them whenever.

As it is rn its extremely annoying, nothing persists long enough to read long messages, and no history is present so you can go back and see them
This also hurts moderation sorta, but ideally they just get kicked immediately
Its really bad for custom missions with longer exposition
