This was already brought up in https://discord.com/channels/909034158205059082/1361850753395851294, but I felt it needed its own thread specifically for the CCIP issue.

The CCIP is not accurate, and can't be relied upon when dive bombing. Using the level bombing UI is mostly fine, but attempting to use the CCIP from a dive causes the bombs to frequently miss, even when releasing from high altitude where in theory the bombs should have plenty of distance to guide themselves.

This issue is exacerbated by the fact that the reticule does not account for the delay from weapon bay doors opening.

A common occurence during the era of the guided bomb, the problem you noticed is similar to the issues faced by early missile age planes like the F4 Phantom regarding the reliability of the cannon. It tended to never work, mostly because McDonnel Douglas had chosen not to install one in the plane as 'the age of dogfights was over'.

In our case, the CCIP computer has been underdevelopped because it was simply assumed that laser guidance would be the dominating use case of the weapon.
