#Naval Doctrines for the BDF and PALA

Now that we're starting to reach into a point in development where we are starting to have faction specific airframes and naval vessels ingame,i would very much like to see a more comprehensive structuring of what both PALA and the BDF Navies doctrines are focused around.

For what we know already, the BDF seems to be one more focused under a more power projection role, through the use of its assault carrier (Which i imagine might also be able of deploying amphibious units? Not too certain since we haven't gotten and aft shot of it) Still they also employ the Tarantula, which does seem to fit with a nation that is interested in the ability to airlift considerable amounts of cargo to anywhere it desires.

The lack of a larger carrier, despite the BDF being the more technologically advanced military in the setting, could probably be due to it relying on either a more varied roster of other naval vessels to support its naval presence, or perhaps just because they have built more than one of them. (A good comparison would be seeing the BDF as the UK, with their two Queen Elisabezth CVs, while the French as PALA opt for a singular, more Capable Carrier)

Speaking of PALA, Their doctrine seems to favour naval aviation much more heavily, emphasised by the existance of an airframe as capable (and expensive) as the ifrit, as well as for others like the Medusa. Its mainly due to PALA that i wanted to make this suggestion, because i would like to see more or less what is their aim in the way they have structured their naval forces. Prior to the discovery of their mineral resources they did appear to be technologically inferior to the BDF, so i do imagine that this carrier has been bought somewhat recently from a third, more powerful country that boasts a substantial shipbuilding expertise (Unless PALA did have a sizeable heavy industry already) I would like to see this clarified, and hopefully expanded on, be it through more lenghty lore dumps on the encyclopedia,-

  • More linear, story wise important missions ingame, Perhaps even a world map with the sizes of both countries, so we can see just what kind of geography they would have, and how that may influence their decisions in what ships they employ and for what roles.

I'll start to make a list of frames and vehicles of both sides down here:

tbf i don't think the hyperion is actually necessarily too technologically advanced. like, it doesn't even have a launch catapult

I wouldn't say technologically advanced, but it has to be very expensive. Not to mention building a ship that large would have to require some very large shipyards.

I hope i'm not coming off as demanding faction specific content, this is just a suggestion aimed at discussing what each faction may be focusing around once we get more content regarding their place in the world

wouldnt call a rolling vertical landing truly vertical honestly

Yeah, landing the medusa vertically is more feasible on paper than in reality. Most of the times you'll be approaching like a regular fixed airframe, while using the thrust vectoring to maintain a proper AoA
(I don't mean its impossible to land it vertically, only that for most applications its much more conventient to do so conventionally)
