Few thoughts to begin with:

  • Whether both sides are fighting in earnest, or are they proxies backed by bigger countries/coalitions behind them? Do their backers eventually get into the fight? (new liveries for the backing belligerents)

  • Famous aces and squadrons on both sides, maybe with advanced AI that reacts faster/shoots better/can multitask, can only deploy after tactical/strategic threshold is reached, has their own unique liveries when deployed by AI and grants extra points when shot down, in return for being more dangerous

  • Kramenka Industries - the creator of the Ifrit - playing both sides of the war for corporate profit. Has their own squadron with unique liveries that are technically testing/demo aircraft, but is in fact fully functional and can shoot. (accessible from both factions) Has missions of their own that involves purposefully sowing chaos to get Boscali/Primeva riled up against each other

  • External mercenary company/ies with their own liveries, available to both sides, has difficult missions that involve sneaking around and doing deniable airstrikes. Maybe even have their own famous aces/squadrons with unique liveries that use the advanced/difficult AI models, complete with the extra points granted when downed?

There are many fan-made ideas about the lore of the BDF vs PALA conflict, however I do agree that we need a canon story to work off of. I think you'd be interested in RNG's PRF campaign, as it highlights the involvement of foreign powers and a fight for resources. #1271657730846888059

Oh, I have those subscribed - I kinda wish these are in the main game proper, instead of a user-made addon
