Plugin to make sharing and editing BL4 saves as easy as in the previous games. Makes sure every save always has a synced .sav and .yaml version, without ever needing to worry about your user id.

Files are synced by looking at the last write time - newest wins. Any time the game saves, it looks through all your files and re-encrypts/decrypts any files which have been changed.

BETA BUILD PLEASE BACKUP YOUR FILES FIRST

Installation:

  1. Get a plugin loader. I recommend dsound.dll from https://github.com/bl-sdk/pluginloader/releases/download/latest/msvc-x64-release.zip - put it in Borderlands 4\OakGame\Binaries\Win64
  2. Download from https://github.com/apple1417/bl4_auto_crypter/releases/tag/nightly. If you don't know better use the msvc release.
  3. Put it in the plugins folder.

To save edit (without closing the game):

  1. Go to main menu
  2. Make whatever edits to the relevant .yaml
  3. Select a different character. This triggers a new save, which makes your files get synced again.
  4. Select the original character.

To load someone else's save (without closing the game):

  1. Add the .yaml to your saves folder
  2. Trigger a save to sync your files - e.g. select a different character
  3. Reselect character and you'll see the new save

Current beta testing points of interest:

  • Does it work on epic
  • Is it stable, not causing any crashes or lag
  • Can it properly decrypt all files - in case of errors it creates a bl4_auto_crypter errors folder inside your saves folder. If that appears, please post it.
  • Does it work as expected

updated to work with current patch

Hey, a friend and I have just just tried installing this and I think it doesn't work with current patch.
I haven't tried this before tbf, so unless someone who's actively using it says otherwise, I think it might need to be updated.

Thanks in advance.

what's in the log file

(might do to delete it first so it's only stuff from one session)

Once again I have noone but me to blame. I had moved the dsound.dll to plugins to launch the game without the sdk loaded. I ofc told my friend to do the same.
Either way, it works perfectly.
Thanks and sorry lol
