#issues with unlocking secret character(s)

Spoilers for the Ode to Castlevania DLC
Description: i recently unlocked the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane, so I assumed that would allow me to start unlocking secret characters. i decided to start by unlocking ||Young Maria Renard|| from the Ode to Castlevania DLC. i performed the required steps as detailed by the official wiki: ||start a run as Maria Renard, obtain Gemini (I), obtain Peachone and Ebony Wings and evolve them into Vandalier||, but it didn't unlock ||her||. Perhaps I missed something, I'm unsure. I took this question to the subreddit and one user told me that I did the unlock method correctly and then directed me here.
Operating System: Windows 11
Platform: Steam
Game Version: v1.13.113

(by the way, the secret character ||Innocent Devil|| was unlocked with a code, which is why i have it and not ||Saint Germain|| and thus not ||Julia Laforeze||)

oh, I also had this issue trying to unlock ||Wind|| despite performing the steps correctly I think the day before yesterday? but that was before I had the Forbidden Scroll unlocked, so maybe that was the issue

You need the pile of secrets relic to be able to unlock any otc secret characters @indigo veldt
