Modding is currently very hard on this game. For Steam Workshop to work poncle would have to make it easier or provide modding tools.

I agree that this would be cool and a very natural fit for this kind of game, but like Bioness said, there would be a LOT of backend work that would need to occur before this was feasible. Since the game switched engines, it's been notoriously hard to mod, a community member only recently making a character creator (credits to Takacomic btw). Not saying it's impossible, but I personally wouldn't get my hopes up for official modding support.
