I really wanna run Familiars in Adventures, and access OtC pickups in them, but I can't if Familiar Forge is just a 1k Gold sink in Adventures for no benefit.

Random thought. Have you unlocked/bought the familiars itself too?
You unlocked the Forge, but most likely each familiar must be unlocked individually too. EDIT: Seems like they can't be unlocked there.

The thought occurred to me a couple days ago, and I hope I'm wrong about this, that whenever this bug does get patched, there may be a new bug or oversight for the OtC pickups not showing up in Adventure stages after taking a Familiar. (This was what got me to try grabbing a Familiar in an Adventure level to begin with.)
