I was trying to get the sniper and the axe armor when my Switch crashed because I was apparently too powerful because I had decided to take too many weapons for it apparently. I guess all the shields, the paranormal scan, the impostongue, almost everything that evolves with pummarola except the garlic, and the Cerberus heads, and the rapidus fio is too much
I got tempted because of Maxim's passive ability of over healing = speed and invulnerability = power
I mean, when I went for it I just did a good old
single-weapon build. The sheer amount of Stellar Blades flying meant practically nothing could touch me anyways

I'm a bit surprised that Reinhardt doesn't get Morning Star as a starting option, once unlocked.
He is still a user of the Vampire Killer. So it feels like he should be eligible.
I do really like how Reinhardt's sprite depicts him with a sword instead of a whip.
Sure, the whip is his main weapon. But with all those whip users being added at once, it's nice to have a bit more visual variety here.
Plus, the fact that he can actually use his sidearm is something I always liked about Reinhardt.
Considering how often Belmonts are depicted with a blade, but it's never part of their arsenal in the actual games.
So has the Switch version fixed the death not appearing in the list of killed stuff?

The Switch patch did a lot of things. Added all those characters that couldn't get unlocked before. Allowed missing enemies like Cave Trolls to spawn. Added the new merchant. Added all the weapons he was supposed to sell. Added the missing boss spawns. Added attacks to the bosses that actually existed... etc, etc...
Felt almost like I bought an entirely new DLC, with just how much new stuff was suddenly there. I'm like 99% sure there is even a ton of stage detail added that wasn't there before.
But I haven't noticed any fixes to the Bestiary beyond the fact that the Killer Doll entry got fixed.
But all the missing entries do seem to remain completely absent.
i know my friend hates the latest patch. He was trying to unlock Dario with Charlotte
and the game crashes when he tries to play as her now after the first attempt failed
Well, on my end playing with Charlotte and unlocking Dario works just fine.
I remember egttign lucky on PC, dominus union kill boss died then the game hanged
character was unlocked even though I didn't get to quit normally
The nice thing about the Dario unlock is that it doesn't require you to actually do anything.
Just pick Charlotte, select Il Molise and wait. Maybe activate Hurry Mode to speed things up.

Passwords were also something that got mostly fixed by the patch.
Before I don't think any of the Castlevania ones worked on Switch, frankly. Even those for characters that turned out to be perfectly accessible and functional.
I did try some out yesterday on my 2nd savefile and they all worked just fine. Without even having collected any of the relics to display the additional sets of characters.

Using the code to unlock "Jonathan & Charlotte" only resulted in solo Jonathan getting unlocked.
And the code to unlock "Charlotte & Jonathan" didn't work at all.
Jonathan got it rough right now. Considering his sprites also aren't properly implemented yet.
The code to unlock Charlotte also failed.
And I mean, I did input a lot of those codes. Unlocked all those N64 characters. Axe Armor. Several characters I hadn't even unlocked yet on my main file. Some characters simply because their code was easy, so I figured I might as well.
So it's not like I soloed out codes related to those two. They just seem to be a magnet for issues currently.
But it is strange that in your case it repeatedly crashes while on my end it unlocking Dario worked perfectly fine.
I mean, console ports should be a lot more consistent between different players than with PC considering we are all using the same hardware.
I suppose different installed DLCs might maybe cause this. Or even specifics in the state of the save file.

I'd imagine the Switch patch was mostly just getting that port on par with the initial PC release.
Since Nintendo's approval process famously takes some time.
So the fact that the Switch version was released on the same day as the other versions probably means that the Switch build was simply outdated by a week or two.
Hello I had a question about evolving alucards weapon to be the shield. Can you get it done in coop with both players weapons or can it be done only with alucard? I was trying last night and just couldn't seem to get it to evolve
Another thing I tested out with my 2nd save file was to delete the doors in the castle with World Eater.
Random fact, Genevive's world eater will destroy the door, but Je-Ne-Viv's version does not.
Despite Je-Ne-Viv's otherwise being a stronger version that will delete any and all level geometry.

Well, Dominus Agony has some use. Especially combined with some Death Ring cheese. And it only takes 66 HP per second, so it doesn't actually scale.
Ironically enough in this game Dominus Agony has easily the most dangerous HP drain of the 3.

Hello everyone, im playing vampire survivor on switch, yesterday i tried to unlock richter, i played with maria on mad forest an evolve her weapon to that like turtle shield with wings and even i reach to minute 31, however i didnt obtain any Achievements nor richter or the weapon itself for everyone. Its a kind of bug or is because i have to do it on the dracula castle? or maybe its because i used the alucard shield or something

Its fixed in a future version (which switch doesn’t have), so just redo it without the shield and you’ll be fine

Every time Carrie enters the castle, Death just so happens to decide it's saver to keep his head low.
Granted, this only happened twice. But it's still a bit too much of a coincidence. I have to imagine that Death knows that Carrie would bust his skull open with his own humerus bone.

Garlic probably won't hurt him. Vincent is depicted as this Van Hellsing-style vampire hunter, carrying garlic and crucifixes around. And he is portrayed as being well out of his depth.

I ended up figuring that out myself, but my run with him was pretty fun. Alucard Shield absorbed Trinum Custodem, Power of Sire, Moon Rod, Vol Umbra and Vol Luminatio (the game insisted on giving me Universitas before the Alucard Shield lmao)
I then got the three Custos glyphs which immediately started limit breaking, and then I added the Rune Sword and the Tower Shield on top of that
All in all, can't complain. It was pretty nuts

The ones from Ecclesia proper are:
- The Dominus set
- The Cerberus/Custos set (wolf heads)
- Sonic Dash & Rapidus Fio
- Confedere and its Evolutions
- Globus and Nitesco
- Optical Shot and Acerbatus
- Luminatio, Umbra, and their evolutions (+ gift)
And the Ebony Diabologue can also give Summon Spirit, Dark Rift, Soul Steal, and Sword Brothers. However, those last few aren't Glyphs in Ecclesia proper (three of 'em are SotN spells), so depending on the unlock, they might not count. Worth a shot though, you can get 'em from the Librarian.
librarian weapons dont count, since they cant evolve and the unlocks requires you to evolve weapons
Also those 4 weapons (along with the librarian) weren't available on the Switch version on release, and I still managed to meet the requirement for the evolving all the weapons of the Ebony Diabologue" unlock.

If you're talking about the enemy that shows up at the 30:00 mark, congratulations - getting killed by him means you've completed a run.
...if you really want to kill him, though, you'll need a specialized build. Either one that makes you immortal, or one with specialized weapons meant to be the 'real' way you kill him
...wait, are you talking OtC Death? You shouldn't be able to die to him so easily, since the fight is (mostly) scripted

With that confusion cleared up... how the heck are you dying?
Gotta watch out for the scythe, it's still dangerous. The random sickles are less dangerous but could eat away at you if you don't have recovery or if you have too much curse. Even though your weapons get blasted, your passives remain effective once they're recovered, so you could enter the fight with Pummarola, Armor, and Parm Aegis to make you more durable.
Basically, keep moving, don't stand UNDER the boss, and keep clear of the hands.

That's a bug specific to a few characters and is on all platforms
I find that the most troublesome step in unlocking everything is that whole "evolve all the spells" thing.
They all require a fully upgraded passive weapon, which makes it very difficult to figure out which one you actually need.
Normally this kind of thing can be relatively easy found out on Moongolow, but Gale Force and Rock Slide are not on any characters you have access to in the first batch. So you have to do it on the Castlevania map. And that map isn't terribly good for exp gain.
Would maybe have helped if Carrie and Julia were in the first batch. Or have finding the spells be the requirement to unlock them, instead of needing to evolve them.
I can't say I enjoyed the whole unlock process all that much, even ignoring the rough state that the Switch version was released in.
Not only is so much of it trial, error and wild guessing, but testing those out also all require to commit and fully take advantage of a 30 minute run. So often you waste 30 minutes with nothing to show for it because you were on the wrong track.
I miss the required evo items being located on the DLC map in question (Moonspell and Foscari both did this). Arma Dio really did a number on that. Granted, Ode to Castlevania has a LOT of weapon evolutions, so it probably would have ended up being like a Moongolow 2 in that respect.
Unfortunately as much stuff as there is to unlock, the unlock process is still very linear.

Richter is honestly pretty low on the list of characters I would have thought had something special going on in the throne room.
I mean, is he the first Belmont in the series? No, that's Simon.
Is he the first Belmont chronologically? No, that's Leon. (Or maybe Sonia. Haven't played Legends.)
Is he the Belmont who put down Dracula for good? No, that's Julius.
There is nothing special about his turn fighting Dracula.
I was only able to deduce that there might be something for him to do because the unlock progression would eventually lead to Richter being the last character to get unlocked.
I suppose unlocking things is easier now since the required information is more easily available on the internet.
Still, these first few days were very frustrating.

Richter’s stated to be the strongest Belmont in some places isn’t he? Obviously this is wrong since Julius exists but I’m pretty sure that statement’s been made a few times. He’s also been in three games and he’s one of the few who Death tried to go after immediately.

Evolving weapons with duo characters is very finicky. It's like sometimes the game doesn't acknowledge you had had the requirements because the passive is on the other character
My advice is just pick more chest until the game takes a hint

Make a passive that lets soma, dracula, and other soul stealing characters get stats or skills by killing various enemies for their souls, cowards.

I mean, maybe a little? Sanctuary is about the same as any other insta-kill weapon, like a rosary or Pentagram or Ophion. I think Refectio shines more with Gemini, though; I love making Speculo Refectio dance around the screen.

There isnt a survival timer, you just have to ||get 6 EVOLVED DLC WEAPONS that are in coat of arms (first 8 weapons in its list)||

The general logic behind their distribution seems to be that it goes to characters who use a wide array of weapons in their game.
So Nathan and Juste not getting it makes sense since they only ever use whips.
But Jonathan has a very wide arsenal. I guess since he doesn't use magic.
But Shanoa gets it, and she can only use glyphs. And there is already a container for those.

Setting aside the fact that Cats aren't a DLC weapon, I'd argue the fact that they're big DPS for a malus that can be partially mitigated by Clover makes them not so bad. In fact, you can probably get away with not evolving them because they're higher DPS at base form

Melio Confodere was hitting for 1k damage per individual bullet as soon as it came out.
Second Test: same set of starting conditions.
With Confodere I went

With Cats I went

I think the biggest difference-maker was getting a second Luck Boost event early on with the cats.
Cats got a higher kill count overall.
Confodere had significantly better DpS.
Not shown: I basically had to stand in the cloud of cat-fusion in order to not die. This was not a problem with Confodere.
Would probably be a better test without hurry
Hurry was mainly because I didn't want to spend more than an hour testing both weapons.
Gatti amari gets stronger the more floor chicken it eats, so hurry mode would hurt it
I took another spin, this time using
, Dairy Plant, Hyper-Inverse-Limit Break, and a full 6 weapons, with the other slots being
Tyrfing and Boot Rune.
Awake was necessary because Giovanna does not survive early-game Inverted without it. It still took several attempts to even get Confodere. Survivability was only achieved once Confodere got its first evolution (Lifesign Scan refused to show up even with 60 other weapons banished).
I had to cut the test run short since I have to go to dinner, but at 15 minutes Melio Confodere (obtained at around the 8 minute mark) had already out-damaged Cats.
Final test I'm gonna do, same as above, but with Darkana
Final Speed was ~ +1101%.
Results seem pretty conclusive to me.
Towards the end of the run, Melio Confodere and Rune Sword will kill enemies before they get to the Clouds of Violence Gatti spawns, even if you aren't moving.
If you are moving said clouds will despawn if they go offscreen.
yeah I've also had really fun results using Confodere because of
and combined with ||Blackmore's|| per level bonuses for more speed
So my testing had some different scenario parameters, but I think it's interesting how wildly different the results were

Confodere works really well with Slash because the large number of hits per activation means that crits happen lot more frequently.
You skipped on the clover, which means the crits happen less frequently.
Clover > Spinach if you're taking both

Yeah, it’s a pain because you’re essentially having to play a zoning game not just with the enemy but also against your own weapon. It’s close to one of the last things I’d bother picking up whether for its base form or its evo.

Make it endless so you don't get shafted by Red Death.

Turn off Hurry mode too, that way you'll get longer periods of time with the easier enemies.

you can start with them as an alt skin, or they can appear in levelup if you have an open active weapon slot. using seals should make it pretty easy

heart refresh gives +5 recovery temporarily
karma coins have a 50% (affected by luck) chance to essentially proc a rosary that also heals you
mirrors triggers all of your weapons and double your current amount bonus
wall chickens heal you for 60 hp
neutron bombs deals 1000 to the screen, meaning they can kill instakill-immune enemies if their hp is low enough

Personally I use Crystal Cries + Icebrand in order to make Fleaman a tolerable experience
Him being 1 HP is the biggest blocker for me so flipping that on its head immediately is the way for me

took a small break after getting through several of the castlevania characters, and i eventually wandered south off the map and found some kinda gravestone, went through some trees and found a big building that has a sealed door inside, but no way past it... am i supposed to trigger some kinda boss fight here? i don't see anything in the area

you either 1. have the evolution sealed in collection or 2. aren't picking up an evolution chest
As a rule, evo chests don't start spawning in until 10 minutes into a run.
Exceptions exist, but that's the rule since the early access period.

Facing a softlock when using a character with only a hidden weapon in the doppelganger mirror boss room. No weapon shows up, you can only wait for death? Can someone confirm the issue on their end?
I was using ||cosmo pavone|| to just explore the map, had gotten laurel and limited weapons to only one. Stuck in the mirror room now 😑
Is the OtC map supposed to have very low enemy density without Charm/Curse?
Most maps do
I've done a run at 0 curse/charm with Antonio, he hit like 60 in OtC while hitting 100+ in Mad Forest/Lake Foscari/Moonspell with the same build.
The enemy spawns in OtC do vary quite a bit, some spots have more/less enemies, stronger/weaker enemies, etc

Also, just because you had the same build doesn't mean the results are guaranteed to be the same, it can be very different depending on the order you get the items, and other factors

There were times when I saw around 8 enemies enterthe screen at around 15+ minutes in OtC when in other maps there's be multiple groups converging around that time
i definitely think otc was meant to be harder (leading to fewer/tankier enemies, which definitely impacts xp)
and again, where you are matters quite a bit. the frozenshade area by ||joachim's|| spawner has higher density, for example

What determines the side of your character the evolved targe & shield are facing? I've had both end up behind my character. Sometimes only one.
usually by default it faces right but it's based off of if you just pressed the A key or the D key, W and S do nothing and pressing those keeps the most recent direction the shield was facing

apparently eggs and ||double characters|| don't go well together, cause playing as ||charlotte and jonathan|| had the eggs trying to go into ||jonathan|| and they can't... so they're just rapidly flying all over the screen and even picking up speed, flying further away as time goes on
also, seems like ||sanctuary|| insta-kills red death, but it doesn't count as actually defeating him, so the white hand isn't triggered.

Earliest reaper kills involved using Suor Clerici in Inlaid Library. You had to reset until the gem on the table offered Runetracer as your second weapon, and then you had to wedge yourself in such as way as that the projectile would completely cover and protect her from harm. Then, you waited for 30 minutes (this predated Hurry mode) at level 2, careful not to move so as not to gain any additional experience (Attraction power-up had to be turned off for this to work). Chests from bosses landing on her were okay, though, and would help the run survive. After 30 minutes, you would sprint towards the red gem at the far end of the screen, which held all of the experience from the run (using the levels you gained as temporary invulnerability and hoping it's enough). Then the fun begins: you had to get Clock Lancet up to max level from that experience, and hopefully Laurel as well. Then, you needed to wedge the first reaper (it HAD to be the first, because he was a level 2 reaper as opposed to a level LOTS reaper) between the table and the bookshelf so that your runetracers would wedge into him and do continual damage. If you got lucky, you managed to beat him before the fourth reaper showed up and overran your lancet freezes.
DLC weapons are much more effective at non-White Hand defeats than that early strategy, though, with Sanctuary being the best at it.
[I didn't come up with this strategy, mind you, but I did try it and succeed after six or so attempts; that's how I got my first Reaper defeat, before Infinite Corridor was in the game]
