At this point, if you upgrade too many weapons (or even one too much), the visibility on the screen ceases to exist. Collecting crates or items becomes a chore, practically impossible.
A possible solution would be a checkbox similar to the VFX effect, which would turn off the visibility of weapon effects and maybe gold rush.
This feature would make the game more friendly to people with epilepsy and would also allow for long and interesting gameplay.

This will also probably help with lag on weaker systems like older phones.
Even without the other issues it gets so tiring mentally to try to filter out effects enough to figure what is actually happening on screen.
I would love to set all weapon gfx opacity to 10% or less

It is really a shame I have trouble enjoying the new bosses because I can't see crap on the screen. Also the Power of the Sire weapon seemed like it was custom made to ruin that experience.
Yeah I think this is probably the most needed change in the game that hasn't happened since launch and is still critically needed. If we could toggle effects on or off that would have prevented the need to update the engine in the first place. So much content in the game is lost from the visual clutter and it makes it unfun to play these big expansive maps like Castlevania when you can't navigate it fairly because there is just so much going on all the time. It would be good to have an option for enemy opacity and a toggle to eliminate weapons visually.
Allow me to complement your idea!!! (which is excellent)
Pausing the game allows you to SELECT which effects of which weapons will be disabled!!!
This would be absolute control of performance and visuals.

yeah i often barely know what is even happening towards the end of the run. i defeated ||orochimario|| without even noticing because he spawned in a sea of enemies and vfx and i have no idea what several other bosses look like because they were obscured by my weapons by the time i reached them. and yeah, it's very tiring and makes my eyes hurt. i avoid taking certain weapons now specifically because their vfx are overwhelming
