why does every new channel set @ every1 to cant view channel and when i try to change the privacy, it says its doing something but the audit logs show no perm changing

do i absolutely need to have the students? i think that is a little pesky, because that means it shows the lock icon on the vc no matter if it is public or private?
cause sync from category is the only way im seeing that mods + music bots can always join vcs by default

You have set a Temporary Channel Access Role. And since you toggled the eye button next to the select menu, everyone without the role can't view the voices.
