Crystal Gauntlet dealing HEAVY damage on use to player

Caught 2 examples of this. I have no idea what was causing this interaction.

it seemed to be dealing damage scaled to the enemy I hit and the number of them
first clip dealt 200 damage to me per enemy and the second clip dealt multiple instances of 100 per slime
