I've been trying to get into the museum now for ages. Every entrance to the sewers is bugged in some way going up or down, the ladders in the sewers are bugged and he won't climb up (does the animation just doesn't move), the crawl spaces he crawls and does not move, just crawls forever.

The game has a bug where high framerates can interfere with the physics engine. You can try to limit your framerate to e.g. 60 FPS and see if that helps
