for the last month or so I have been on and off trying to get the game running. It refuses to download the remodded files despite checking all my windows security settings along with my Norton settings everything appears to be in order so unless there is an obscure setting that's not obvious. All that happens is on my Task Manager i see instances pop up for a moment onl to just close again.

I have even gone to the point of getting the game files from my brother to try and circumvent the download process. The launcher recognised the files however once again it would refuse to run.

I would like to note that I am only have problems with the LAN version ONLY. The single player version work without any issues so I'm not sure where the problem is coming from.

@smoky sage - not sure whether you are able to provide any workable advice. I have gone through all previous posts and tried all solutions previously provided.

Sorry to be a bother I am just desperate to play with my brother and I've sort of given up at this point after spending hours trying multiple things

I'm not of any help here but did you try running the mod without the launcher 🤔

To me it just sounds like you skipped out on the video tutorial, and are missing the base files and such.
You'd need to provide more info besides "I did everything" to get better assistance though. Might try recording a video clip of issue or such

Sorry, I should have provided more context. I went through the process of downloading the TCP files which had the window prompt close after clicking No to download those extra 27gig of data. The issue appears to start from there as the Remodded Files themselves don't download not. I know some other people found that clicking download a number of times eventually got it to work but i notice a get several instances on my task manager only to have them all close. when I said that i tried everything i meant that i tried putting the folder in multiple locations in multiple drives to deal with the potential issue of it being restricted, checked all the security setting for the folders and drives and i have even uninstalled my OneDrive as I don't even use it. I turned off Norton, I even tried turning off Windows Defender to see if it would run but no luck my PC just refuses to allow the program to run anything. but as I mentioned above the Single Player version does not have any issues.

Happy to record a video as well if that would help to show what happens, particularly that the Non LAN version doesn't have any issues

Have you attempted downloading through a VPN yet?

Usually suggested for base files but could work here

finally got it working. I managed to tell the launcher i had the files from my bro and it seemed to work from there. It just didnt like getting the files itself after i clicked No on the TCP pop up

Can confirm, only way to get this to work is to have a friend or family member send the D2RLan folder, as trying to move the D2R folder from Bnet doesn't seem to work either, VPN doesn't work, I even went as far as a windows reinstall and couldn't get it working, some weird incompatibility and it's not permissions related.
