there's a few things that broke my own immersion when playing and for a vr game i think a big selling point of vr games IS the immersion. i have two suggestions and ideas that could be implemented and can be used in tandem to open new possibilities.
First, drinking. Not from the player, but from the customers you serve. They chug their drink immediately when you give it to them. This isn't that big of an issue, but the first character you meet, Rone says "Are you enjoying your drink?", when the character he is talking to, does not in fact have the drink in his hands, as he chugged it less than 2 minutes prior. Characters should spend time consuming their beverage. Scripted, probably, so no different from a regular talking animation, but it should also decrease the liquid in their cup, maybe one or two increments down. whatever fits vest honestly for the scene. This can also allow for unique interactions with the player, similar to the one with the boss in the apartment when you cheers her. Could do something similar to that. There are cases the usual chug may be good still, like when a character is about to go into a more drunken state.
Second, I think cups should stick around after the customer is done drinking them. There could be a sink added for you to throw them in, or if there isn't, the player can just do whatever with the cup. smash it or something it doesn't really matter much. it's a small detail but it feels better than the drink disappearing as soon as they consume the contents.
Just the thoughts I had when playing the demo myself and sitting on them for a good amount of time. opinions or feelings are appreciated.
