The experimental weapon from the Lo'lah is quite weak in comparison. Depends on what else you have available, but you could consider to change it. Some experimental weapons fire during science mode, like Hexa or Inertial polaron shunt

Afaik, the experimental only works in Tac mode. That's why it's not replaced or upgraded.
