I just had a stupid new idea...
Have a level of viability of fishing gear.
Arrived at the port having to buy hooks and buoy to repair the longlines.
Have a place to hang the nets to haul them.
Buy ramander needle plus thread. Cut the net to repair it. you have to understand the logic of starting with a leg and ending with a leg.
Scroll it and repair the holes.

We can greatly complicate things with larger holes and more complex tears depending on the wear of the net.
I also had the idea of having a bunch of old netting that we could use to cut out pieces of netting to repair very large holes with always having to patch things up with a sewing needle
