I don't think you would catch halibut or catfish on long lines or surface nets cause they live on the seabed. Trawlers would catch them tho

We catch halibut on tub trawls (basically a short long line) in New England and the Maritimes. And they're rare but we do get wolfish and their relative cusk on them sometimes as well.
