#Choice on using keywords

We know that a hunter can chose to not hunt, a frenzy can chose to attack only 1 time, A fast to not attack, but what if it was the same for the other keywords?
A sneaky able to chose to be blocked only by sneakies or not
A tough creature able to chose to be defeated directly or not
A poisonous creature able to chose to not defeat the creature it's fighting

Do this came to the mind of the developers when creating the game, and if yes why is that not the case?

Interesting thought.
Usually it gives no special advantage to ignore your own keywords, but in some instances this could prove beneficial.

Some situations where you would desire to cancel your own keywords:

  • Opponent has Pomelozilla, you have on your side a Beetroot Predator (Tough), and a Lone Yeti (Exhausted), and both players are out of cards.
Pomelozilla attacks, and if you block with Lone Yeti, you lose because you can't take action. You block with Beetroot instead, exhausting him, and next turn you could only do a suicide attack with a weak Lone Yeti.
Had you been able to have Beetroot Predator be defeated, then you would have won.

  • You have 2 Axolotl Healers, and Opponent has only 1 life left, and a Harpy Mother.
You don't want your first Axolotl to Poison Harpy, or it's an instant loss by losing the second Axolotl.
Harpy kills 1 de-poisoned Axolotl. Then you attack with your remaining Axolotl, and opponent can either block and lose on next turn due to no action, or they decide not to block and due to attack.

But even if it sounds desirable to pauze some keywords, I would not enjoy it the other way. You have to take it into account what effects your cards would have, and advantages are not always positive.

Definitely not something I ever considered

#

But it is a pretty good question

#

I think the ones that are voluntary are the ones that just felt eight to be voluntary

#

Like sneaky, I dont know that you would ever get an advantage by not using that

For Sneaky I didn't find a viable situation either, because the opponent can still choose to Not Block.
There are examples where you would love to suicide Poison a creature if they have that Keyword too, or trigger a sneaky's Defeated effect (Spirit Maki taking over an Gorillion while opponent also has an Elehantopus on the field), but I haven't found a situation yet where the player would have to mandatory block if sneaky became optional.

Personally I don't want Tough or Poison to be optional, they're part of the creature's nature. Their hardened skin or (in general) the poison in their bloodstreeam that you can't just turn off.
