My personal thoughts on this (I also briefly mentioned them in tweet form):

• I do genuinely like shooting on the whole. I'm shooting around 35-36 percent as a team overall, which is right around league average, maybe a hair below, but we're talking literally 1 percent, which, for a video game replicating NBA average not only for me but also for most players I'm seeing on the leaderboard, that's incredible and is something I hope carries on throughout the year.

• I especially love that the difference between harder shots (contested, off-dribble) and easier ones (wide open in the catch and shoot) is so palpable, but the former also don't feel like a complete impossibility. That's something I don't think I've ever seen done this well in a 2k game.

• The issues are the inconsistencies in the system. Game to game lag and latency is a huge one, but even in game with shot speeds, it can get pretty frustrating when the difference between shooting 45 percent and 15 is a split second of lag. Overall though, the ends seem to be justifying the means to some extent, though some sort of help to mitigate some of those effects might be nice

well 2 way 6’8-6’9 guards are the hype, and it lives up to its name, they just have the upper leverage and takes little to no skill, but 6’1 guards still have the high risk high reward end of the stick

as for bigs idk but my big is insane so i guess im biased but i got builds for all 3 and being a 6’8 2way is the easiest job

but the green window for a usual guard is huge

Sometimes it resets to default. If it’s for your MyPlayer it will be in Gameplay Effects and then for other modes it will be in your controller settings. Just double check both. I believe you can only access the star for your MyPlayer.

One thing I’ve noticed abt the defense unpluckable is cruicial, it might not help a bit but that little percentage still matters, also vice grip, badges that benefit u from “the ball being stolen” all those matter, and the LAST thing that really makes a difference is you gotta keep moving how u dribble the ball, i play lock and i always get a guaranteed steal 90% of the time whenever the player is squared up to the defender dribbling. Once you’re squared up, with glove its an easy steal

obviously you can get the ball stolen in every way you play, but as a person who plays lock, the steals are OP when you know when to time it against ur opponent, and whenever u dribble down the court in a straight line thats also another easy steal

Believe it or not standing still is the easiest way to get the ball stolen like i said if u standing still with the ball in ur hand ur squared up to ur opponent

In ante up or in certain places with tryhards its harder because everyone knows how to dribble with good sigs but in rec and park its common for those stuff to happen

when people do dribble sigs like the behind the back or size up escapes the moment ur player is squared up or stationary for like a split second the window opens for that person to have a chance to steal

it goes vise versa if you lose tho, ur bar goes down if you lose with a bad teammate grade

@hazy viper your players do basic dunks because you have to activate main dunks by flicking the left stick up then pull and hold it down until you green or make contact with the rim. You should get a meter that pops up. I generally dont look at the meter, i look at when my hand hits the rim, it greens consistently if you do it that way

@swift ridge yea because there is no point in getting your build to 99 overall this year, for 1, it costs you over 100k just to go from 95 to 99 with no added benefits like last year. So id advise not going to 99 overall. I did it not knowing you dont get plus 4 attributes this year and i wasted an extra 150k vc to go from 95 to 99

@pearl wagon funny part is, they removed east,west, asia and Europe servers and now its all 1 big server, this sucks because when you go against people that arent from your region, you can tell the big delay difference and shots get delayed. They shouldve just kept the servers the way they were

If you set your freelance, that's only the freelances that you'll see in your menu. If you don't select any freelance in the OTF menu, it will go with the default, usually 4-1. But if you start the game with D Pad right, RB for freelances and then selecting the button of the freelance you want to run (I usually use Flow or Bucks), that will be the freelance until you change it

It immediately puts you at a disadvantage instead of just waiting for another minute or so for someone to join in. not to mention most of the time people will immediately leave the game if theres an ai at the start, and i don't blame them as it sets you up for an automatic and unenjoyable blowout loss 90% of the time

Nah this isn't true. The adrenaline system exists for a reason. After you lose a bar on defense it gets much harder to get a pluck steal. That kills the spam argument right there. How can someone spam if they losing adrenaline bars and lowering their chance of getting steals?

I wonder if you should account for menace stat reduction when people are going for steals. I assume most high glove builds would also have access to menace and get the reduction when face to face near the perimeter.

Also want to say one of my favorite features is being able to see the previous game and check 2kcards. It's a great QoL improvement. It can be improved. I think the 2kcard connection is live so you can see the current build loaded instead of what was in the game if people switch after the game. Definitely still useful and a good start

To be fair, they're experiencing a vastly different meta in Rec/Park than we are in MyTeam. In MT it's pretty okay because basically no one has HOF Glove with the exception of Pippen. For them, when you've got three guys on the floor with HOF Glove, and they're all allowed to get at least one swipe in in 24 seconds (or shorter), if there's a 33% chance you get ripped on one, that chance only goes up with the triple swipe. That's awfully difficult to deal with. On our end, the only real steals issue I see is with CPU steals. Imo, a user probably shouldn't be rewarded for just allowing the AI to play their defense for em, and a lot of times, something as simple as a set-up hesitation dribble can lead to a rip.

Personally, I think it's just a matter of sliders at the end of the day. They could probably use a nerf on the Rec end, but they're likely okay on our side of things

Like he said, though, we do play the same game regardless, and any change you guys get usually is going to effect us as well, which is why just nerfing steals across the board is unwise

I am still trying to find out if they are doing away with 92 and under Rec? I noticed last weekend on my rebirth (90 overall) it was joining me with 99 overalls. So I’m new to the server. Just curious what people think about the take foul. I get it, but not everything in the backcourt when it’s just yourself and the opposing player is not a take foul. Actually going for steals and not trying to stop a break. The CPU never gets called for it when they foul. That’s my experience at least. Or input on how to try and steal without having that called.

Imo, I do not mind it at all. Punishes users for spamming steals in the backcourt. I realize that it's not the spirit of the actual rule, but as a 2k mechanic, imo it's very good. If you're playing undisciplined in that way, it should result in points.

The Theater is a genius concept implemented perfectly. We get games much faster than Park or Rec. None of the modes will ever get stale (empty courts). It opens the gamer up to experience so much more of what the game has to offer. Users will stay engaged & demand the return of their favorites. Great concept & it is beautifully designed.

The only hiccup I’ve experienced is the performance progression meter doesn’t move up after a good game. It doesn’t move down after a bad game either (which is a good thing 😉).

@dusk vessel i just feel like since the theatre is known for its matchmaking and its ability to enter a game quickly fits the 1v1 gamemode really well, many people wait on the dots or in stage to 1v1 because its the only way to get progression for season level. Theres other ways to 1v1 people like mtn dew, mobile, etc) but u get no progression of levels for it only vc.

I hope with the new Update the Camera is fixed so If I'm controlling a Player, it's not cut off because the focus is on whoever has the ball. I noticed this a lot more in Triple Threat. I hate the Updating too, I get screwed out of a checkin Every time when there is an Update. I really think it’s the skill set of your opponent. Some games, I’m blocking everything. Then there was this one crafty guard who had the toughest layup package I’ve ever seen. I got a few blocks off of him but he opened my eyes to the importance of the layup attribute & relative badges.

What are your interior & block attribute ratings? I’m also interested in looking at your defensive badges in comparison to your opponents during the games you’re having difficulty in the paint on defense as well as what your “defensive assist with intense D” setting is set to.

I personally think steals are OP. Hear me out though, I play Rec with my buddies and we’re pretty good. Not Comp Pro AM guys or anything but compared to most, we’re pretty good.

When we play against 2-4 locks with 99 steal it’s almost impossible for us to bare to finish the game.

So while I do believe locks should be able to get plucks and interceptions…

99 steal is MUCH more over powered than 99 3, 99 dunk, 99 Rebound, 99 Block, etc…

If we’re really against nerfing steals we should think about making it harder to allocate so many attribute points on steals like we do for Pass Accuracy and Ball handle. I say this because it’s pretty reasonable for people to allocate attributes points to 99 steal on their builds because you can still be good in the other 3 areas (4 if you include physicals).

BUT, just look at how much you have to give up for 99 pass accuracy and 99 ball handle….

You can pretty much only pick ONE other category to be great in. If you pick 99 pass accuracy and/or 99 ball handle, you will be lacking in most areas of the game. Verse a 99 steal, you can still be great at everything else…

Just my thought, I hope this makes sense. I know I was rambling a little.

You said 99 pass AND 99 ball handle, try 99 perimeter AND 99 steal , you will not be able to be great everywhere else like you said. Also if you do only 99 steal and 70 perimeter you will not be good at stealing the ball. hIgh Perimeter defense stats increase responsiveness on stealing animation so if it's low, the player will not reach instantly when you press X or square.

To be fair the stealing thing is not a problem as long as you don't dribble in front of your defender and got unpluckable. I have gold unpluckable and I barely have on ball turnovers.

Yuh it happens whenever I’ve played about 2 or more games or Career in a row… I get sent to the main menu quite often switching between areas or trying to continue in Career…. It’s quite unpleasant….
