Not necessarily true. Pass first just means they prefer to get their teammates going first or look for the open man before hunting for shots. Me personally I just adapt to how the game goes and take what the defense is showing me.

There’s guards out here that will literally not pass for a whole half and wonder why their teammates are out of rhythm.

And not even be shooting good, or playing defense on top of that. Which is absolutely unacceptable.

The problem with 2K for a lot of people, is everyone wants to be MJ. The thing about that though is, the Bulls only had 1 MJ. There's only 1 ball to go around. So you have to have the other people, the Pippens, Rodmans, Bill Cartwrights. The people who know their role and can play it well. And your role will sometimes change from game to game

as a guy with a 6'10 Iso Swiss Army Knife build, there are games where my defender is poor and I can attack him off the dribble. But other games, I'm against someone who is a good on ball defender, but sags off too much off ball, and so I give the ball to my teammates and use my skills off ball to get open and find good looks. And then there are the games where you notice one of your teammates has a poor defender on him, so you give it to him and let him cook. It's all about doing what the team needs during that game
