Here are my some of my suggestions for JE:
Sprite editing
· Layers for sprite editing
· The ability to paste a part that we selected with the selection tool and paste it in another frame or another sprite in sprite editor
Idk, Aesthetics?
·Glow, Shadow, bloom and post processing features?
[The people are gonna make bangers with these in no time]
· Ability to add outline and glow to object.
[This could be useful for aesthetics like item rarity and whatnot]
QOL and Others?
· Global variables for actors (not the global variables for assets) so that we can set actors that are on the map/triggered an event to Variables to later use them.
· The actor selector for the "start pointing" command that both long range and melee weapons have shouldn't only allow us to select a specific pre-existing actor that we placed on the map. It should also allow us to select an actor that might interact with the user of the weapon. It should be able to select "Main Actor" (so if the main actor were to change mid way, the weapon will still target the Main actor). It should also be able to use the suggested Global variable (from point 5) to select an actor. It should also be able to select camps as a whole so that they can target any actors associated with that camp.
[This way we can allow NPCs to fire weapons on Actors which not only pre-exist on the map, but also actors created once after the game is started. For example, this will allow spawned units and even the main actor if you were ever to change him (for cosmetic or whatever reason you've got) to be targeted by the npc which would otherwise be impossible]
