hey, just got a beta key today and i'm having really really bad lag- like i'll press a moving key and it will take my character 10 seconds before it moves. same with mouse movements to change the POV. it's making the game almost impossible to enjoy 🙁
i was on my home island before and noticed the lag was a lot better- i was barely lagging at all, i think it may be related to other people being in the same area?
i was also talking to one of the NPCs and got stuck there for like 10min, couldn't move at all and there were a lot of people gathered around the NPC.
right now i'm still in a public area on the main island but there are less people around, and i'm getting a little less lag but still a few seconds delay before my avatar starts moving after pressing W/A/S/D.
i did think it could be an issue with my computer before so i closed some tabs/windows and cleared a bit of storage because i've been needing to do that anyway, but i'm not sure it's helped much.
i also asked in the chat if others in the server were having lag and they said they were so i'm not sure if there's anything i can do to reduce lag or if it's just a game issue.
i did also try joining a different server/rejoining the game and it hasn't really done much, i think lag improved for the first few minutes but now it's back to being bad
