Hello, thank you for the opportunity to play test your game, it was a blast to experience. I have a couple of things I'd like to see regarding the home neighborhood system.
As it currently stands, when players travel back to their home via the air balloon, they are placed in a small center island that bridges out to four other homes in a 'neighborhood'. This often places us in neighborhoods with random people I often see come and go, which doesnt really adhere to the spirit of connection. I'd love to also have the option to prioritize placing my home within the neighborhood of my "best friend's" in-game home, if we're both online and in the same neighborhood pool.
Request:
When entering or forming a neighborhood, players could optionally designate one friend whose island they'd like to be connected to. If both players have mutually designated each other and are online, the game would prioritize placing their islands within the neighborhood layout rather than randomly assign the area to random players.
Why It Fits Loftia:
The heart of Loftia is connection, farming together, decorating together, and building a community. Being physically next to your friend's island deepens that bond in a natural, cozy way. It also stays true to the solarpunk spirit of intentional community-building. Since the neighborhood system already supports forming groups with existing friends, this feels like a small but meaningful extension of that vision.
Implementation Details:
This could be as simple as a "Best Friend" tag or a "neighbor preference" slot in the social/friends menu, with a mutual opt-in required so both players agree. It wouldn't need to disrupt random matchmaking for the other neighborhood slots just influence which two spots get assigned to the matched pair.
We could also expand this to have a slight prioritization with people within a guild-like community.
Thanks again for building such a wonderful world, I can't wait to see it grow!
