Let me expand your idea. Lonely planets are procedurally generated from various matherials and temporary objects. You need to build radar, observatory etc... It will time-to-time inform you that it found lonely planet. On the planet, you have a chance find just everything that exists in MC. It can be just a dirt planet or lava ocean, the same as giant diamond or piece of ancient debrits. You will find it out only when you reach it. When you leave it (or after some time), you will never meet this planet again.
