The moon is really great. It is really a great improvement over earlier space mod's moons such as galacticraft and space dimensions. I especially like the idea of more biomes. there are certain biomes that, if implemented, would basically make the moon so fun to explore that certain people would start to permanently settle there in their ad astra worlds. Here are some of those suggestions:
- Lunar midlands, also known as the craters biome. This biome would be more hilly, with exposed patches of lunar stone and a generally higher ground level of about 80. Scattered craters would be visible all throughout the biome, with certain craters clustering together and some having central peaks and more intact and less weathered craters. - Lunar highlands. These mountains are visible from earth irl as large white patches and are some of the moon's oldest crust, untouched by lava flows. There are staggering peaks everywhere you look, with some rising as high as the build limit. Underground villages do not spawn here due to the nature of this biome. The peaks are large and interconnected, the lowest level being a little higher than the lunar midlands. Caves that spawn here are ancient and larger than the other biomes, and generally do not have surface openings. The peaks are covered in a white dust called lunar dust, and there are few and heavily weathered craters scattered about.

-Lunar seas. These are newer crusts, created by lava flows after massive impacts. The ground is made of darker lunar regolith, except for the few intact craters, which are coated in lunar dust which streaks across the surface in a spiderweb pattern around the crater and coats the inside of the crater completley. The lunarians do not venture here as they consider the ground suspicious. Due to its previously volcanic nature, caves below the surface have a lava layer.

#

-Lunar poles. These are very, very heavily cratered regions, like the irl lunar poles. They have massive craters spanning hundreds of blocks, with craters inside even more craters. It feels like no place has been spared from being cratered.

-Volcanic tubes. When lava flows occurred, they left small volcanic craters filled with basalt and lava tubes, looking like spaghetti caves. These tubes are rich with resources and sometimes jut out of the surface, creating lunar arches (that part isn't realistic, just for fun) and certain organisms from the moon's fiery past may still lurk in the depths, where the lava never cooled down...

#

note: volcanic tubes are in lunar seas

-Lunar high-seas. This is a weird biome. it's like a mix of the lunar midlands, highlands and seas all together, created at the nexus of a sea-type biome and a regular lunar biome. This is a very rare and dangerous biome because of the unpredictability of the terrain.

  • Lunar valleys. This is a rare biome located where lava flows weren't able to touch. This land is sacred to the Lunarians, and it is not uncommon for great lunarian cities to be built on these areas. They are like a snapshot in time, being like the lunar midlands but lower and with terrain like the lunar wastes.
