#A Builder's Utility: Block Color Hex Searching

I'm in the middle of a building project in a modpack with 285 mods. So far, it's going great, but the process could be streamlined a bit more. How? Because there's so many blocks to use and I'm using real-world reference images.

To color match, I'm eyeballing block colors and comparing them painstakingly to colors found in reference images. As you can imagine, this process is tedious, so I went looking for a utility which allows you to search with a color hex code that returns the closest colored blocks (by using color hex tags assigned to each block).

JEI does something similar but only categorizes based on general color. It's not useful enough warrant practical use for a building utility, except for narrowing the search down slightly. Therefore, no utility like I described exists, which is why I'm here to make this suggestion. Such a utility mod would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reading, and feel free to offer your thoughts on the idea.

I'm confused, what exactly does JEI do differently than what you want?

yeah what ur asking for is just not gonna happen

#

Minecraft allows devs to assign a color to a block for things like the map

#

so JEI uses the color map system to search, there is a limited number of colors you can use

#

you cant just make it search by color, my god the amount of lag it would be to wait for the game to index every item by the color of the sprite

#

it just wouldnt be possible im afraid, at least not in a way that would be practical

sorry
