An idea I had to make the bowls more useful/ aesthetically functional is the ability to put stews/ soups in. For example, rabbit stew, mushroom stew, or even mysterious stew. And, as an addition to it, the ability to put other stews/soups from mods like Farmer's Delight and it's add-ons.
As for the plate, maybe a cake/pie plate? So maybe call it a dessert plate, and allow you to place cakes and pies on it (similar to the bowls, where other mods work with it). Whenever you take a bite out of it, it maybe does a triangle shaped slice instead of a horizontal slice like usual?
