Having the option to redo battles and/or turns would make take this game to the next level. A large part of the appeal behind the game is strategy -- being able to retry a battle with different strategies and approaches after dying would be one hell of a welcomed addition. It would allow people to learn from their mistakes, understand how things work better and keep things much more engaging. There is far too much frustration currently in the abrupt endings to runs that could many times come from simple oversights and such. As it stands, it's punishing and frustrating -- this could alleviate those aspects and really improve the overall experience greatly.

Agreed. Having at least a toggle-able option to retry battles instead of being locked into your mistakes would make the game much more enjoyable for m.
Currently the game saves between turns instead of between fights like StS. That's nearly as unforgiving as it could be.
Sure you could use exploits to redo the entire fight but then that's not really a main game mechanic, it's a hassle.

Well, if Slay the Spire worked fine with it..
retrying a battle in slay the spire is inherently a breaking of the game's rules
it's allowed but it's not intended behaviour (as in, not a "main game mechanic")
it's just a side effect of the game's save system
i hope they implement an official undo turn feature in wildfrost though
