enemy instantly attacks after coming into battle

[acoustic current]

i was on the normal final boss, dread and horde bell on

• enemy makoko hits my Gobbler (main character)
• my Gobbler has smackback and barrage, hits the makoko and frost guardian (named Brightwind)
• frost guardian dies and starts phase 2, spawning 4 new enemies, including a winter worm
• winter worm immediately attacks my Gobbler

[devout crater]

Had the same thing happen to me, killed my berry man
