Im looking at making DND style battle maps however im running into issues with getting my camera to display the maps with enough depth however without the walls of the map covering portions of ground from the cameras perspective. I have tried using the orthographic camera also and messed with the rotation however the lack of depth is still an issue. Im trying to mimic the picture attached to the post however im happy for other methods that get a similar result. Thanks

I would use an orthographic camera and a misst path to make the top parts of the map back.
Depth of field might help and add some focus to the area you are supposed to look at and a lack of light will add the "mystery" effect to areas that weren't discovered.
