#Archipelago Suddenly Not Working

Hello people, I am currently participating in an Archipelago Multiworld Randomizer on a server I am in, and have been for a couple days now, it's async so I can play at any time.

Anyways, today I started the game and everything was fine on the main screen (attached image 1, you can also see I am also using the previous patch as indicated and the modlist as well), and then I go to the save file I'm using for the randomizer (attached image 2), everything fine, I click resume.

A few seconds pass, and I get an Unity error popup (attached image 3) and then the game crashes.

I have also attached the modlog.txt file as you have requested, so you can see pretty much what happened on the last attempt.

This happened on Windows with the previous patch, I use Lumafly as my mod manager, and have the game on Steam. Any assistance would be very appreciated, as I have other players expecting checks from me, no pressure of course since it's all async and it's expected to last at least 2 weeks. Thank you!

You have at least one mod (Additional Challenge) that is not compatible with the way the modding API preloads assets by default since its last update, which can cause these crashes. You have 2 options, you can either:

  • Not use this mod (and if it still crashes similarly you can try removing Arcade Knight as well, I don't remember if it's affected by that issue too)
  • Edit your API settings to revert to the old way to preload assets. This will make the initial load a bit slower but the game should not crash anymore. Instructions for that can be found here #hk-general message
