ive seen so many mods that add wacky new charms to the game, and ive seen a few that rebalance the notch cost, but ive never seen a mod that rebalances the charms with a focus on reworking their mechanics. does one exist?

theres honestly some charms that just arent worth using regardless of their charm cost. even if baulder's shell was 1 i still wouldnt equip it since it just doesnt help

There's Charm Overhaul and Charm Changer, which I put together, that can let you do some of that

Charm Crab also modifies some of the charms, and it's one of my favorite mods to use. One of the changes is Baldur Shell costing 3 notches but in addition to the increased i-frames, it also reduces the damage you take by 1 (minimum 1). It also reduces the charm notch cost of Wayward Compass, Gathering Swarm, Sprintmaster and Shape of Unn to 0.

My 3 favorites have to be Mark of Pride and Heavy Blow, and Dashmaster because the former's notch cost is 2 and includes a stacking damage buff that resets if you take damage, and Heavy Blow's notch cost is 1 and includes a stacking bleeding effect. With good gameplay, I can mow down bosses really fast with that.

Dashmaster eliminates the cooldown of Shade Cloak, allowing you to spam it. That's the most insane one.

Again, highly recommend the Charm Crab mod.

Just watch out for the damage buffs given to some of the bosses. Making direct contact with some of them deals a whopping 3 points of damage.

It should also be noted that Charm Crab's ReadMe mentions that it makes no attempts to be compatible with other mods, so if you plan on playing with it, then you shouldn't plan on playing with other mods at the same time.

Well, aside from the wonky charm notches issues that I can easily fix with MoreSaves, it works pretty well with Charm Overhaul.
